A little magic. :)

I think everyone deserves to spend Christmas with an almost-3-year-old who ‘gets’ it for the first time ever. It was magic. Rowen got a train table, which was assembled (by her daddy and grandpa) and waiting for her as she walked down the stairs. The look on her sweet face was completely unforgettable, and she has barely stopped playing with it for 2 straight days. Ahh. Now THAT is Christmas. :)

In fact, it’s obvious from the photo that I was having at least as much fun as she was. Dorky mama. :P But  it was awesome fun.

We had a great time through the weekend, baking cookies, making good food, playing with the kids, taking walks in between rainstorms, playing pinochle at night when the kids went to bed. I have awesome in-laws, and I feel pretty blessed and lucky for it. :)

I hope everyone had a great holiday, spent surrounded by family, friends, food, laughter, and love. Jared’s off this week, so the party continues. :)

Christmas is always fun when kids around, and especially when they get the "look" when they see all that Santa brought them. I'm glad you had a nice holiday weekend.

I wish you a very happy and a continued successful 2007. I love your blog and your Photoshop Fridays. Thank you.

Hi Jessica...
Just wanted to take a minute and thank you for your generosity. I've learned so much from your Photoshop Friday lessons. Thank you, thank you, thank you, for giving me one of my favorite "gifts" this year.

Great photo, Jessica... and it brings back sweet memories for me! At 13 and 16, my kids don't play w/their train set any longer (really?!?!?) but the memories of hours and hours of fun still linger. Happy New Year!

Love the post (and those train sets are as much fun for the "adults" as anyone else...er...ehem, I mean what?)! It really is so cool to watch as the kids start to understand what is going on (my little dude is 2.5 yrs and he really digs the gift thing -- giving and getting).

Here's to many more cool moments and stages and to a Happy New Year for you and your family!

Great photo. I remember when my son got his train table and Thomas trains. He loved it just as much. He still likes to get the trains out now and then and he is eight. Have a great New Year.
