Life is full of funnies. :)

  • Crafts that kill..
Alright, y’all. Don’t forget to open a window when you do this to avoid potentially brain-damaging fumes.

- A tutorial on making plastic “fabric” by ironing plastic bags together, over at Curbly.com

  • Walking downstairs this morning to see Rowen standing in front of the TV, watching Curious George, with her PJ shirt on inside out, and a pair of black tights on. Apparently, regular old pajamas aren’t cool anymore, and THIS is what she was doing up at midnight. Again
  • At Qdoba a few days ago, we were eating, and a police officer walked in with his partner. He had a shaved head. Elliott stands up on his bench, points at the officer excitedly and says, “Anudder daddy! Anudder daddy!” (apparently all bald and shaved-headed men are also daddy…)
  • Rowen deciding that her Mater clock is officially too scary to have in her room anymore. We agreed.
  • (This will only be funny to Warcraft players or the people who love them and/or live with them.) We passed by the tailor shop coming a new way home a few days ago, and I said, (not knowing that this was total comedic setup), “There’s the tailor shop.” Without missing a beat, and in perfect deadpan, Jared says, “Do they make Imbued Netherweave Robes?” (Tailoring is a “profession” your Warcraft character can have, and it just happens that Jared had made these for my character, which I recently started playing again…) The answer? “No, I don’t think they do…”

My husband (a fairly new Warcraft fanatic) did indeed appreciate this. He also commented that he can only dream of Imbued Netherweave Robes.

LOL @ the Mater.
We rec'd a Mater truck as a gift for DS and swear the thing is possessed. We finally deemed it an outside toy. So now sometimes while we sit on the porch, we watch the wildlife around our huge tree freak out when possessed Mater spits out hillbilisms' randomly. =D

Hi Jess
Love your blog!! Sorry Mater has become scary.
I have a couple of questions. One I am thinking of moving up to pse 6. I have pse 4 now. Have you tried out the new version? What do you think? Should I wait until after I have taken your class to get it? Second I work at a library in Detroit and we have a about 10 LDS mission guys in here at least once a week to check their e-mail. But I always see guys never girls. Do the girls do inner city missions or are they just in the suburban neighborhoods. Just curious as to how it works.
Thanks

Kudos to the person who went, "I wonder what would happen if I ironed my plastic bags".

I totally don't get the Warcraft reference. I will have to run it past my son who works for Blizzard.

All right - you have set the bar too high now...you scrapbook AND play warcraft?!? When I shared your tailor story he laughed and then said something to the effect of "she does both, why can't you?" lol - I went back and read the mater alarm clock story too - still giggling....

I am laughing my head off at the Mater story. I hadn't seen that before. My 4 year old has used the phrase "Wake up time" for more than a year. It was hilarious to see that Rowen uses it as well. I have never done it, but I planned to buy some cool party lights with footballs or something, hook them to a light timer and tell him it's not wake up time till the footballs go on. Way quieter than a Mater shoutin, "Git 'r dun!"

I have a slightly random question. My hubby brought home a Canon s9000 printer for me today (isn't he the best?). I am so excited about the fact that I can now print directly to my 12x12 paper... it's just that I'm not sure how to do that. What program would I use for getting all my text in the right places for a 12x12 sheet? Can you help me?? :)

Hi! My comment actually has to do with an older post. Awhile back I read on your blog about Google docs and today I needed EXACTLY that program. I wanted to thank you for being so hip and knowing about all the cool things out there and letting all of us who live under a rock know about them! I am my sons soccer team parent and the coach asked me to fill out a tournament roster. Well, the file is an excel file which I have no other use for. Then I remembered your awesome blog and wahlah I was able to fill it out and change the file to a .pdf file for printing!! Thanks alot!!

oh my ... totally laughing here because harper says the exact same thing about bald men!! she always points and says, "daddy!" and i have to explain that no, they didn't father a child with a total stranger ... her daddy just has the same haircut.

way to go, big e!! we need to get you and harp together to point out all the bald daddies while the mommies catch up and gab!! are there any red hat things in nc anytime soon?? **wishful thinking**
