Dashing Through...

Ever feel like you sort of hit the ground running on a Monday?

I was finishing up a project til about 3:30 this morning, so I don’t know if ‘running’ is really the word to describe the action, but I defiinitely feel like I’ve slipped into the week’s current, ready or not.

I first need to say that I’m SO impressed by the AWESOME type-on-a-photo layouts that have popped up in the CK gallery over the weekend. GREAT job. I’m seeing such a cool mix of digi and paper layouts, and I love that. I love that the computer works for ALL kinds of scrapbooking.

Don’t forget that if you’d like to create a layout with the PS Friday technique and post it in the CK gallery by midnight tonight, I’ll be choosing an artist at random to send a RAK to. So you still have some time. :)

It was an awesome weekend. Gabby and Aubrey and I hit Carolina Memories again, now that there are more CHA goodies in stock. It’s the perfect distance away for a little scrappy road trip + lunch at Saladelia, the great mediterranean-inspired deli behind the store. Picked up a bit more of that super-fun Pheobe line from BasicGrey. And had a serious eye on the new Silhouette from QuicKutz. Wow, that little machine looks awesome, and I was picturing all the incredibly cool (and impossible before now for this hand-cutting challenged girl) stuff I could cut out with this machine. Have you seen a demo? What do you think?

We got to play in the playhouse that our neighbor gave us because his girls outgrew it. It’s perfect for our small ones, who love to go in and shut the door and then.. what else? Wait for the pizza man to come. *sigh* Sometimes parental example shows through a bit too much, huh?

rowen_pizza.jpg This is Jared, starring as the Piza Man, delivering pizza (aka leaves) to Rowen. They both tasted some, gave some to Elliott (who is just starting to get the idea of pretend eating - so cute!), and they say it was delicious.

This weekend we also made homemade ice cream (not leaves this time. Real.). Not once, but twice. Ghirardelli chocolate both times. Our house was full of friends for two nights in a row, and that was great. And that’s the reason for the 3:30 a.m. bedtime last night, projects having been put off in favor of fun and friends and ice cream.. so it was worth it. :)

And the project in question is coming out with the 100th issue of Creating Keepsakes in July. So stay tuned for that. :D

Alright, the current is carrying me toward the shower now, and then ‘whither then, I cannot say’ (alright, it’s the grocery store and the park with the kids, but how often do you get to quote Bilbo Baggins on a Monday?) :D

I can't seem to "print" the whole PSF on CK...it only prints the first two pages, and cuts off the rest...
By chance will you post the instructions here? Just wondering....

Rowen is SO very cute. They say the darndest things...You are smart to document them. I wish I had. It's the little things like what they say that will just crack you up at any given time. Love that.

I love documenting these funny little things...you always THINK you will remember and most likely do not. My recent one:

My niece Lydia who is almost 4 said "that truck says CULVERS on it"...I am not sure if you remember Culvers from the twin cities, but it is a blue oval with Culvers written in white...just like the FORD logo! It was a hoot.

Ahhh, one can just feel the joy and love you have for Rowen. The little ones just give us a whole new perspective on life. Seeing things thru the eyes of a child can be such a refreshing eye opener. Enjoy! Thanks for sharing your private little moments.

She is so sweet! So we'll be seeing a fabulous layout on this soon? At least this one right? “I’m going so HIGH, mama! High like a fire truck!” !
