My Take on this week's PSF.

First off, let me say how surprised and happy I am that so many people got the BlackAdder reference from Thursday. A cunning plan that cannot fail. HA! I love you guys. And I DO have a cunning plan in the works. Just making some arrangements, planning out the interface, that kind of thing. It’ll be awesome. :)

Okay, I promised a layout with the PSF technique, so here it is:

For this hybrid layout, I converted these photos to black and white using yesterday’s PSF technique, then put them inside of frames from Rhonna’s Snap Shot Flourishes frames, and used papers from Jen Wilson’s ReJENerate Reaffirm (the yellow behind the dates and journaling) and Remember kits (the yellow behind the dates and journaling). I added on the “Adore” word art from Jen’s Rekindle kit, and then printed that entire arrangement on 8.5 x 11 matte photo paper.

For the paper part, I added some torn Chatterbox paper (the reverse sides are solid colors - and thank you Gabby for helping me overcome my fear of paper tearing…) and adhered the whole thing to the polkadots from BasicGrey blush. I love this line. I added a BasicGrey rub-on flourish below the title, and then typed the dates and journaling onto the yellow digital paper and printed them. I punched the dates and added them to Bazzill chipboard (I inked the chips and the journaling block with CatsEye chalk ink).

Sparkly letter and chip heart are from Lil’ Davis. Word stickers are from EK Success.

Have you got layouts to share with your b/w conversion? Link me up! :)

Happy Saturday!

Jessica, I just wanted to thank you (SO MUCH) for the wonderful tutorials and inspiration. I have learned so much from you and really appreciate that you include PSE, as I feel most of the free and useful tutorials are for full photoshop. Keep up the great work!

I'm sorry I'm going to post about an entry from almost a month ago, but I wasn't sure where I should put it.

First off, brand new to your site and I'm really lovin' it! Learning PSE5 has been a hair pulling experience and I have already learned so much in the two days since I was directed to your website by a Pea. THANK YOU for sharing your knowldege.

Secondly, the thing that made me want to post here was the story about Rowen, church, and the cheerios. It brought instantly to mind the time when my dd, at age 2 was in the nativty play. Our Sunday school teacher liked to include ALL the kids, even the littlest ones, so they strapped on some paper wings and she became an angel. She was so cute. Until....little pebbles started flying at the audience! The little stinker had stashed away some of the gravel from the parking lot in the pocket of her dress. I was of course, mortified, and brought her down from the stage. The whole thing was caught on video by my parents. Looking back now, the whole incident was rather funny, no one got hurt and even those who were the targets of her little shenanigans had a good laugh. She's 13 now. No, it doesn't get easier, but it's always interesting. The thing I've noticed as we've both gotten older is that things I thought were such a big deal really weren't, (like the pebbles). I love her as she is, good or bad, and that's what is important. Hang in there and just enjoy the ride.

WOW! I just loved your video totorial yesterday of the black and white conversion...I always read about Curves being the best adjustment to use but have always found it difficult, but hearing and seeing exactly what you are doing in there was just awesome, so Thank you SO much, also I really loved your hybrid LO, I started out with digiscrapping, but have done a few paper layouts to see what all the fuss was about, lol, but this hybrid LO sounds a bit more my speed when it comes to paper, thanks for the inspiration! :)
