Absence...

So, did my absence make your heart grow fonder?

Or are you just pretty annoyed? :P Never fear! I’m still here, although the weekend was tougher on me than I had thought it would be.

I woke up on Friday morning very sick. It was bad. I think it was a migraine (I’m tipped off by the massive, pounding headache I had), but I was on the verge of not being able to teach my two classes at CKU-Anaheim on Friday because I couldn’t quit throwing up. It was awful. :(

I did manage to make it through the classes, and was able to grab a nap on Friday (and I went to bed early - so helpful). I haven’t really been feeling myself since then, although I’m MUCH better than I was on Friday, and improving. :) There is nothing worse than being sick when traveling, especially when I had 150 students depending on me to show them how to use Photoshop. :)

I need to give a huge shout-out to my TA’s for the classes: Tricia, Nami, Caroline, Trude, Aimee, Jenny, and the folks from Epson: Gabriel, Katye and Stephanie. I COULD NOT have done this class without you. *SQUEEZE* People came up to me after class knowing the name of “their” TA who helped them through a rough patch. Awesome. That is what this is all about.

I can’t say that I remember much of Friday. In fact, I can say that I DON’T remember much of Friday (apparently we made it through, though, because a bunch of layouts got printed). But Saturday was good, although incredibly busy. I ended up not getting to bed until 2 a.m., and needed to get up at 4:30 to get to the plane. And today was spent ALL DAY flying home from Anaheim to NC. 6 hours of flying, plus a 3-hour time change. Bleh.

But the trip, I must say, was worth it. I LOVE meeting scrapbookers. I love being part of the process of discovering something new. And CKU ROCKS. I heard Ali tell people in Detroit that it would change their lives if they let it, and I believe that. I really do.

I will post more tomorrow (it’s 1:30 a.m., so that’s more like today), and include Katie’s generous coupon for you to use at DesignerDigitals. :)

I’ll probably be in trip-recovery mode for the next few days (not to mention that our first online digital scrapbooking class starts today at JessicaSprague.com), but I’ll try to get things back together as soon as possible. :)

Awwww Jess, I'm so sorry that you were so sick. If in fact it was a migraine I can so sympathize! I've suffered from them since I was a young child and unfortunately passed it on to my children as well. It is a miserable thing to endure. Feel better and know that we will all be here waiting anxiously for your wonderful gems of knowledge that you so generously share with us!! You're the best!

Ya poor thing. You have been given such an amazing gift of strength. I'm so looking forward to your class. You made it through another weekend, and inspired even more women to scrap the everyday.

Have a sweet, wonderful, splash in the sprinkler kind of week!

Jessica,

It was such a thrill to meet you Saturday! I'm the "gushy" woman from Texas. Can't wait to sit down with your book and start learning that Photoshop magic.

Rest. Eat chocolate. Kiss your babies. Be good to yourself.

Sorry to hear that you were so sick. I was wondering if that had happened. I know my worst illnesses have always come after a plane trip. The worst is being away from home and being sick.

Glad to hear you were feeling better for the rest of CKU. And now that you are home, rest as much as possible. Take the time you deserve to recover. (Well, as much as two toddlers will ever let you rest.)

Sorry to hear you were sick. Migraines are terrible when at home, but while traveling and without begin able to go to a dark quiet room with a cool damp cloth, well, I just don't know how you survived. I use a combination of ibuprofen + acetamenophin + caffeine (Excedrine for Migraines has this all bundled together nicely).

Glad you are feeling better.

Jessica:
I never would've known you were so sick the day before, because Saturday you were so ON....I have gushed on another board what a delightful teacher you were. Plus, you were bopping and screaming at commencement....you must rebound fast! Anyhoo, you gave me a great high-five when my partner and I ran up when we won for the sponsor poster :). Right on. Maybe next time I will create something all digital....

Sounds like I missed a good one, eh? Sorry you weren't feeling well, but I'm glad you've bounced right back! :) I will definitely catch you next year, OK? Promise! (I'll give the hubby plenty of notice next time!)

Wow Jessica, I'm so sorry you were SO sick!! It was so great seeing you at CKU. I really enjoyed your Make & Take & your enthusiasm at crops/commencement. I'm really interested in taking an advanced digital class....so hopefully that will be offered in the future.

Your class on Saturday morning was great! I loved it! I now know how to load and stamp a digi brush! That alone is worth the price of admission LOL! I loved the layouts that got printed--I really, really want one of those Epson printers and tried to convince hubby that I really "needed" it. Needless to say, he's not buying it--literally. You're a terrific teacher--I can't wait to take another class from you...ever think about a hybrid album track?...I'm just saying....how cool would that be?

Just wanted to stop by and thank you for a great class on Friday at CKU and a great make & take on Thurs. I really enjoyed your class, learned a lot and LOVE my gorgeous layouts. I was very impressed by you as a teacher. I thought you were professional, friendly, approachable, organized and easy to understand. I really appreciated all you did for the class. You seemed so well prepared. Thank you and have a great week.

PS Sorry to hear you were sick - it didn't show at all. You're amazing!

Hi Jessica,

Your Saturday class at CKU rocked! It was one of the highlights of my weekend. (I'm sorry you were so sick on Friday.) I thoroughly enjoyed the class and love my pages. I was so impressed by the whole experience that when I got home last night I ordered my Epson 1800 and can't wait until it arrives on Thursday. I'm so excited! When you are all rested up, would you be kind enough to let me know where to purchase the matte paper you use. Thanks again for a super class and make & take!

You were my hero, toughing it through the classes on Friday. Getting a cold or something is one thing, but nausea makes anyone want to curl up and be left alone.

I'm happy to report that I think they went really really well! Especially since some of the gals were telling me they had never used PS before...EVER. So awesome that everyone wound up creaing such beautiful pages, and seemingly without anyone wanting to smash their laptop to bits. :D And they were all so appreciative of our help, that it made me want to keep on going through the afternoon! Thanks again for the opportunity to help out!!
