Monday, June 18, 2007 at 01:08AM So, did my absence make your heart grow fonder?
Or are you just pretty annoyed? :P Never fear! I’m still here, although the weekend was tougher on me than I had thought it would be.
I woke up on Friday morning very sick. It was bad. I think it was a migraine (I’m tipped off by the massive, pounding headache I had), but I was on the verge of not being able to teach my two classes at CKU-Anaheim on Friday because I couldn’t quit throwing up. It was awful. :(
I did manage to make it through the classes, and was able to grab a nap on Friday (and I went to bed early - so helpful). I haven’t really been feeling myself since then, although I’m MUCH better than I was on Friday, and improving. :) There is nothing worse than being sick when traveling, especially when I had 150 students depending on me to show them how to use Photoshop. :)
I need to give a huge shout-out to my TA’s for the classes: Tricia, Nami, Caroline, Trude, Aimee, Jenny, and the folks from Epson: Gabriel, Katye and Stephanie. I COULD NOT have done this class without you. *SQUEEZE* People came up to me after class knowing the name of “their” TA who helped them through a rough patch. Awesome. That is what this is all about.
I can’t say that I remember much of Friday. In fact, I can say that I DON’T remember much of Friday (apparently we made it through, though, because a bunch of layouts got printed). But Saturday was good, although incredibly busy. I ended up not getting to bed until 2 a.m., and needed to get up at 4:30 to get to the plane. And today was spent ALL DAY flying home from Anaheim to NC. 6 hours of flying, plus a 3-hour time change. Bleh.
But the trip, I must say, was worth it. I LOVE meeting scrapbookers. I love being part of the process of discovering something new. And CKU ROCKS. I heard Ali tell people in Detroit that it would change their lives if they let it, and I believe that. I really do.
I will post more tomorrow (it’s 1:30 a.m., so that’s more like today), and include Katie’s generous coupon for you to use at DesignerDigitals. :)
I’ll probably be in trip-recovery mode for the next few days (not to mention that our first online digital scrapbooking class starts today at JessicaSprague.com), but I’ll try to get things back together as soon as possible. :)

Have a sweet, wonderful, splash in the sprinkler kind of week!
It was such a thrill to meet you Saturday! I'm the "gushy" woman from Texas. Can't wait to sit down with your book and start learning that Photoshop magic.
Rest. Eat chocolate. Kiss your babies. Be good to yourself.
XOOXXX
keep ice on your head and neck and take 2 advil and drink a coke with them......You will feel a little wierd for a few days. Good Luck.
Cant wait to see your online class today!
Glad to hear you were feeling better for the rest of CKU. And now that you are home, rest as much as possible. Take the time you deserve to recover. (Well, as much as two toddlers will ever let you rest.)
glad you're feeling better!
Glad you are feeling better.
I never would've known you were so sick the day before, because Saturday you were so ON....I have gushed on another board what a delightful teacher you were. Plus, you were bopping and screaming at commencement....you must rebound fast! Anyhoo, you gave me a great high-five when my partner and I ran up when we won for the sponsor poster :). Right on. Maybe next time I will create something all digital....

PS Sorry to hear you were sick - it didn't show at all. You're amazing!
Your Saturday class at CKU rocked! It was one of the highlights of my weekend. (I'm sorry you were so sick on Friday.) I thoroughly enjoyed the class and love my pages. I was so impressed by the whole experience that when I got home last night I ordered my Epson 1800 and can't wait until it arrives on Thursday. I'm so excited! When you are all rested up, would you be kind enough to let me know where to purchase the matte paper you use. Thanks again for a super class and make & take!
I'm happy to report that I think they went really really well! Especially since some of the gals were telling me they had never used PS before...EVER. So awesome that everyone wound up creaing such beautiful pages, and seemingly without anyone wanting to smash their laptop to bits. :D And they were all so appreciative of our help, that it made me want to keep on going through the afternoon! Thanks again for the opportunity to help out!!
