Photoshop Friday 2007 #24!
Hi There!
Welcome to our 24th edition of Photoshop Friday for 2007! Holy cow! This week’s technique is simple but very cool - adding a title on a semi-transparent block over a photo before printing. It incorporates a grid of four photos, which I’ve cropped to (1) 5x7, then (3) 2x2.5 and placed side-by-side.
Here’s our sample layout for this week:
Credits:
- Patterned paper: Fontwerks (Kate Teague)
- Scalloped Cardstock: Bazzill Basics
- Buttons: Foof-a-La
- Felt Border: Queen & Co.
- Flower chipboard sticker: Cloud 9 Design
- Heart sequins: Doodlebug
- Fonts: CK Puppy Love, Impact (Microsoft)
I created the semi-transparent block behind the title using my “BubbleBorder” that comes as part of the FREE Strawberry Lemonade Kit right over here at Creating Keepsakes online. So go pick that up first! Unzip it to a folder on your hard drive, and you’re all set to go!
I created a 6-minute video tutorial for this technique, so head on over to Creating Keepsakes Online to watch how I put together the semi-transparent border and the two-font title:

When you’re done I’d love to see! Link me up!
Have a super, Phabulous Photoshop Phriday! :D

p.s. I spotted this on Cathy Z.’s blog. I’m probably the only person left in the northern hemisphere who hadn’t seen or heard of this guy (not being much of a TV watcher, especially these days). The YouTube video is awesome, and wait until you hear this guy sing:
Paul Potts sings:
I was so moved by this performance (not necessarily by the little Aerosmith overlay action at the end there, but whatev), that I went searchin. I LOVE that he won this entire competition. There is something so inspiring about an underdog achieving his dream.
He performed on the TODAY Show, and you can see his performance there on the 2nd video on this page, called “Talent Champ Sings on TODAY.” THIS performance was amazing. I don’t normally go in for much opera, to be honest. I always thought it was a sort of acquired taste, like eating mussels or sleeping comfortably on a bed of nails. But this performance brought tears to my eyes, and I found myself anxiously awaiting this album, if all of the songs on it are sung with such power and feeling as this one. How strange is that? I love it when my world is shaken up a bit. :)
I’m most glad, though, that such an enormous talent has not gone undiscovered, and he gets the opportunity to share his gift with the world.
Have a wonderful weekend!

i love Paul Potts - i saw his video on perezhilton and was just beyond amazed with his talent - it is not very often where i really feel as well as hear the music, it is a rare talent that can do this - Paul is definitely one of those.
