Independence Day

Rowen4th.jpg

I took about 250 pictures today.

It was a day full of sunshine, and togetherness, and a community party in our little historic downtown, an hour-long midafternoon nap, grilled steak  (and VERY mediocre potato salad), our own little firework display (Elliott, too scared, asked to be put in his bed and watched from his 2nd-story window),  and homemade chocolate ice cream (eaten on the porch watching the big fireworks). Perfect.

Of all these moments, this is my favorite one.

Happy Birthday,  America.

Wow--this is a fantastic photo that sums up your wonderful holiday! great job capturing your daughter's excitement.

We had lots of rain where I'm at in WNY--but we still managed to see the fireworks last night--my 2 girls loved it.
