Solidarity. Right?

We are putting the finishing touches on the interface for the brand new videos for the Now We’re Rockin’ with Photoshop class (ahem. that technically starts today - it’s about 1 a.m.) that’s getting underway. Lovely, lovely Internet Explorer decided to choke on the code that Jared fed to it, and we had to go back, not quite to the drawing board, but back to the, “Okay. We have 3 hours and this only works halfway. What do we do so this looks nice AND actually works without making people use Firefox?”

And just so everyone is clear here… that was actually what I said (Jared was all for making people use Firefox. ;)). I think that everyone should be given the choice how they browse, but it is hard sometimes in the backend of these processes to create hacks and workarounds and go back to the “What do we do now?” stage JUST so all browsers can play happily. If I had my choice, we’d ALL be using Firefox on Windows machines. But it isn’t my choice. It’s yours. :D And ultimately, users should decide what they use, and that’s a fact. :)

So typically when Jared or I have a big project to work on and we’re burning midnight oil (and 2 a.m. oil, and 3 a.m. oil), the other one ends up saying up too, just out of solidarity. My part of this class is finished, at least until tomorrow morning, but here I am, still up.

So of course I shopped online.

Out of solidarity, you know..

I could NOT resist these shoes from Anthropologie. And I almost bought this dress (to wear with a tiny white t-shirt under it), but I just couldn’t, even having events to go to, justify it to myself.

I picked up a couple of shirts from CharlotteRusse.com, where the styles are somewhat similar to Anthro’s, but you can spend the same amount and get 6 shirts instead of 1 dress. Hehe. ;)

I looked and looked for a denim skirt like this one, but there’s no size for me. If you have any hints/tips/links, send them my way! Totally in the market for a just-below-knee a-line or flare denim skirt. I also loved this denim skirt, but alas again, there’s no size for me.

Also stopped by the online version of a store I saw when we were in Idaho - some really cute stuff here, especially the dresses!

Stopped by (and only browsed and drooled) the Sundance Store (someone posted a link to this in the comments here a few days ago! Thank you!). The skirts especially are wonderful. Pricey, but wonderful. Not the sort of place (ahem.. like Charlotte Russe) where you go on a big spree and buy a bunch of stuff because hey! Look how cheap that is! So consequently, I bought nothing. :P

I’m terrible at looking at things, thinking, re-thinking, overthinking, and then wandering away when something shiny catches my eye, only to come back to 30 Firefox tabs and getting overwhelmed and closing the whole thing down. This is why I have no clothes. But I did get a few things, and now I just wait to see if they fit. :P

Maybe there’ll be more solidarity tomorrow night…

Woohoo!!! The silver lining behind the grey cloud: shopping out of solidarity (my kinda thing). Great to hear it's all working now!

Charlotte Russe is always an interesting store to browse. Gotta love an online boutique that has an entire section for "corsets."

Hope the NWR videos work. But I'm not sure why you needed to make all new ones--the old ones were great!

Have you ever shopped at territoryahead.com? They have some denim skirts. I would also be glad to use Firefox if needed!

hey-I found this skirt-not sure if ya like it enough but thought I would share anyway-plus I have no idea what size you are (not that you have to share!) but it has about every size in between the two that you linked to.

I love firefox. I don't use anything up! Any diehard IE users should give it a try! Thanks Jessica and Jared! Can't wait to get started "rockin'"!

I don't understand why everyone hates IE so much. I guess it is part of the MS haters. My son is a programmer and said the issues are because of litigation by other co's that are trying to prevent them from making it easier to write code for. Anyway, I have used Firefox but I also have no trouble with IE. Glad you got it working.

Love Firefox! P.S. When you get those shoes from Anthro, tell me how comfortable they are...I love wedges and platforms (add inches to close the 6 inch gap to my husband!).

If you guys think Firefox is the way to go, I'd be more than willing. However, I've never known anyone on it and know nothing about it. Maybe you could enlighten us on the MB!

Did you know there is a Sundance Outlet Store in Salt Lake City? I found some great things there a while back. I'm thinking you have to travel there for CK stuff so you could take a little side trip!
Here's some info: http://www.saltlake.org/visitor_info/salt_lake_areas.html?cid=1&aid=2&mid=591

Hooray for Firefox (and Safari!)! :) Can't wait to start on my assignment tonight!

And those shoes are sooo cute. Psst...just wait for the dress to go on sale, should be just in time for warmer weather! That's what I always do, try it on in the store no matter what, and if its not in my budget yet I just wait until I can order it online for 1/2 price. ;)

Jessica-
I love your blog and all the PhotoShop tips. Your blog inspired me to make my own and Im so glad I did!

I consider myself beginner hybrid.

Here are my answers to your survey:
I wish in PhotoShop I knew how to do more with "Masks" and desaturating b/w photos then coloring in just certain parts. Also, I'd LOVE to know how to make a fancy 10x13 collage like you pay big $$ for when you have prof. photos done.

On the computer I wish I knew more layouts to do with more than 1 or 2 4x6 photos on a page, do something to incorporate all the vellum paper I have, and creat titles in word that were neat and could be cut out.

Thanks! I'll be keeping my fingers crossed!!

Oh my goodness what a question you ask? I would love to navigate through PS like a seasoned pro and know how to DO EVERYTHING that program can do, things I did not KNOW it was capable of!!! Now, you want to know specifics. I am a fairly NEWbee, am just learning PS Elements have had PS for years and have played with touching up pictures and moving arms on people and putting people into pictures that they are not originally in. GREAT FUN! I need the most basic easy step by step manual or video on how to navigate through PS, a tutorial on how to use each thing and somehow to remember it all! I love the special effects that PS can do with a picture... How can I learn them ALL??? I'd like one place to go to that lists everything that you can do on PS in scrapbooking, then I could just look that up and go to it to do it! Does that help? Thank you for all that you always share of your talents!!!
