Check and double check.

Leaving for CKU Chicago tomorrow. :D

New haircut? Check.*

New glasses? Check.*

(Pics of both of these to come, I promise!)

New Fluevogs? Check.

Raw red Kleenex nose? Check.

Slightly wonky left eye that is mysteriously very puffy underneath, presumably from the same thing that’s causing the Kleenex nose? Check and double check. (Has this ever happened to you? What the heck?)

And that’s why no pics of the new hair and glasses yet. :P

So as I pack my iPhone with a few TV shows, charge my laptop, double-check that I’ve got the power cord and the handouts and CDs, and make sure to pack underwear, I just wanted to stop in and say thanks for all the well wishes! You know your great vibes keep me going over here.

And thank you also for your comments on the Photoshop Friday! We had a great response in the Up & Running class as well, and this wasn’t necessarily an easy tutorial, so everyone who tried it, you’re awesome! More like that to come, ok? :D

Alrighty, and here’s one last sweet pic from our little set a couple weeks ago, edited with Nichole Van’s genius texture actions:

 Ele-Jared-Sweet.jpg

This child came home tonight from the bookstore with what HAS to be his 47th space-related book. He won’t even look at anything else. Unless he has already looked at a space book, and then I can sneak in some other stories. So tonight, with this small one sitting in my cross-legged lap on the floor, we reviewed Eagle Nebula, spiral galaxies, Jupiter’s Great Red Spot, and Red Giant stars in his The Way the Universe Works (book number 20-something of the collection, and well loved). And then we read One, Two, Three, by Sandra Boynton. Sort of an intellectual step down, but hey, the kid’s got to stay well rounded, right? :P And of course we finished off the bedtime routine with two or three choruses of Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star, which he must hear at least twice or the universe flies apart.

Alrighty, bed?

Check.

I had that eye thing in the fall. I had a sinus infection and it caused strange eye problems. I got some great prescription drops that cleared it up fast. They're also good for that itchy-eye feeling I get during spring and fall allergy seasons. Have fun in Chi-town! It's actually pretty nice here this week so you won't freeze. :) Really wanted to do CKU again, but we just have too many scheduling conflicts this year. That photo needs to be printed on a huge canvas. Adorable!

Hey Jes... sounds like you have a blocked tearduct (happens with colds and coughs). But I'm just a Doctor Quack-Quack :P so it would be good to ask your doc what's best to put on it so it clears up real fast (usually eyedrops work wonders).

Have a GREAT time in CKU... you know you've got my good-luck vibes flying all the way with you! :D

Had the eye thing recently with a sinus infection as well. May also be why your affliction is hanging around longer than everyone else's too. No doctor here, though. Sorry you are feeling under the weather. Have a great CKU!

I had an eye thing once, but it was my upper eyelid, and it turned out to be "cellulitis," which is apparently way dangerous. Who knew? All I knew was that my eye suddenly puffed up for no reason. Seems like I did antibiotics and maybe eyedrops. And now I am blaming that for the reason my eyes are starting to wrinkle ('cause it can't be due to my edging closer to the end of my forties, lol). Either way, if I were you I'd hit the doc's office before heading to CKU, or you could be miserable.

I love that photo of your two guys...beautiful! I'll have to check out those actions!

Have a blast at CKU Chicago--all those people taking your class will just be amazed. Hope your cold gets better--I know it isn't fun to deal with when you're getting ready for a big trip/event.

With your new 'do, new glasses and those fab new shoes--you'll look like a million bucks!

Jessica,
Just found out I am not going to be able to take Digi In Deep due to costs. I am really bummed. It is first class I have missed.
As for you, it definitely sounds like you have a sinus infection in one particular sinus and without antibiotics, it is going to take it forever to clear up. And you don't need to be flying off to Chicago as hard as flying is on sinuses and ear infections. End of lecture.

What a sweetie! JPL, here he comes...in 20 years or so. :)

Ugh, when my eye gets yuck & puffy, it's my sinuses. Take a decongestant before flying- it can make it much worse!!!

By the way, your fluevogs rock!!!

Chicago here I come!!! However, no new haircut, no new shoes, and no glasses. However, what I lack in newness, I will more than make up for in personality :)

Can't wait to rock the album class with you!

Also Afrin nasal spray before you board the plane. Hope you get all well in a jiffy!

Have a great time at CKU, I am jealous of the students and the opportunity to do an album track with you.

Although they will have a hard time concentrating on their layouts, with those HOT shoes causing distractions!

J- When you return, check out Planet Heroes. My space-obsessed boys love them. We normally avoid plastic, noise-making toys but have made an exception for these. Love how they know the planets names and order (according to distance from the sun) thanks to this series!
