Shutterfly and NSD

We spent the day at Shutterfly yesterday. It is such a cool place. They have a two-story entrance with a huge staircase going up the middle, and there are photos posted all over the walls. And they aren’t just pro or stock photos - they are real-life pictures, too. Their whole culture is about helping their customers connect with the people who are important to them, and they organized this event to understand more about scrapbooking in general.

Ali spoke first, and talked about why she scrapbooks, what motivates her, and offered some ideas for connecting with scrapbookers. Dave O’Neil (the CEO of CK Media) talked about the business of scrapbooking. They invited me there to talk about digital scrapbooking, and the scrappers who create pages in Photoshop (whether from quickpages, templates, or from scratch). They were very interested in learning more about the digital world, and I hope I represented. ;)

The afternoon finished off with a paper scrapbooking class, where about 15 Shutterfly employees got to try out scrapbooking for the first time. :)

Since I got to fly all the way across the country for this, I got an extra night’s stay here, and I’ll be heading home today.

BUT, I wanted to pass along a great deal - National Scrapbooking Day is Monday, and our friends at DesignerDigitals are holding a huge sale:

30% OFF with coupon code: 148694
Expires Tuesday at 6am EST

How much fun was that?! and Of course you represented well!
How exciting! I would love to see Shutterfly expand even more on their awesome digi-scrapping projects. I love the photo book you have on there. Totally unreated: Have you thought about doing a digi-scrapbooking retreat? Maybe partnering with Shutterfly? LOL. I would be there!!!

Right now, Shutterfly has the corner on the digital scrapbook market. No one else offers the right type of product at the right price. I'll probably use them loyally forever. I'm glad you were there to help them see the other side of things!

Jessica- How very cool that you were able to go talk for the digi-scrapbooking industry. I'm sure you felt honored (and you should have) and I'm also sure you represented it all wonderfully. It sounds like it was very neat & I think it was smart on Shutterfly's part to have people from the scrapbooking industry there to get more info & have some of their people try scrapbooking for the first time. Super cool!

We just received our shutterfly ABC book in the mail today!

Thank you so much, Jessica, for all your work making these templates. My son and I had so much fun thinking of photos to go with each letter. Ali Edwards is writing about focusing on just photos & words this week---and your project let me do just that.

I have so many projects 1/2 finished, waiting forever for completion. It was AWESOME to start this last week and receive it a week later. Plus, shutterfly has it looking all professional---my 3 yr old loves seeing his face on the cover of a *real* book!

Thanks so much!
