Off on a little vacay...

Oh yes. You read that right. The Couple Who Never Travels Together is actually going on a little side-trip for our anniversary (#8, officially on Monday). We’re driving over to Asheville tomorrow morning, staying til Sunday, and we can’t wait!

Grandma Carol is here visiting us, and she offered to stay with the kids while we go away for a few days. Oh yeah. Love her forever for that. :D Our last trip together was for our anniversary in 2006 (Remember the Outer Banks and stumbling on a hang gliding school? That was the very last adventure we had just us). So we’ll go see what adventures we can have in a westerly direction, and hopefully catch up on some sleep, and be able to talk to each other face to face, instead of calling over our shoulders such romantical things like, “I’m uploading that new image now, can you refresh?” and “Did you turn on that SEO optimization checkmark? It breaks the store! You can’t turn that on!” Ah yes. The romance runs deep around here when your office is your life is your hobby is your partnership. That’s why this trip will be so nice.

While I will have my laptop and will undoubtedly be checking email, I will try not to. ;)

And who knows? Maybe will find another hang gliding school. :D

Have an awesome weekend, and Happy Father’s day on Sunday to all the dads out there, especially if you are the husband of a scrapbooker (ahem, or a the husband of a scrapbooker I’ve turned to the dark side who also now wants external hard drives and a wide format printer…). I know what kind of man it takes to be married to one.

Jessica--enjoy your fabulous weekend! Asheville is wonderful. When we lived in TN, we took a weekend trip there when our 1st was only about 2 months old. . . I should scan those photos in and create a book, huh?! Happy Anniversary!

Have a wonderful time on your little getaway! I second the Biltmore suggestion, we've been 3 times and I can never get enough of that place! It's awesome! We also drove the Outerbanks a few years ago and were totally blown away. Being from Alabama, our beaches and shorelines are lined with highrise condos, nothing like what we saw on that trip! Amazing! Oh, and I do credit you with the item that topped my Christmas list last year! Santa was very, very good to me when he left that Epson 1800 under the tree for me!!! :D Have a great time, can't wait to hear all about your trip!

How awesome! My husband and I spent out honeymoon in Asheville, so that place means a lot to me. It's incredibly relaxing there and, in my opinion, a great place for some romancing. Have a great time!

wow--what a wonderful anniversary get-away...my DH and I celebrate the big 8th this year, too--and we haven't done a getaway in several years...enjoy it!

Gotta love those grandmas!!! Enjoy your trip & don't check your e-mail - time alone together is too precious. My husband and I try to take a trip once a year to a special place in Arkansas where there are no phones in the room & no cell phone reception. On the years we didn't make the trip, we really, really missed it!

I can't imagine two people who more deserve a bit of time *off* together. (And I echo the sentiments on the Biltmore!)

I've got a few on you, but my hubby and I celebrate every 5th anniversary at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville. The next Valentines Day will be our 20th wedding anniversary. Enjoy the galleries, the food and mostly each other!!
