Photoshop Friday! Font-o-licious! 24 FREE fonts

I totally LOVE fonts. LOVE them. Collect them. Gaze lovingly upon them. I do find myself coming back to a shortened list over and over, for their pure deliciousness and utter perfection.

This is a list of the downloadable fonts I use the most often (by downloadable I mean aside from the standards like Century Gothic, Garamond, Myriad). I think you should go pick these up, if you don’t have them already. And I think you should throw away that one you have that has letters shaped like a picket fence. You know the one.

The first 24 are absolutely FREE. The last 3 are a couple bucks each, and I’ve found them to be totally worth it.

I hope you enjoy these, and please feel free to add your favorites in the comments!  I would also love to know, how many fonts do you own?

I was just thinking to myself that I wish someone would post a good list of "scrapbbook friendly" fonts because I already spend so much time looking/shopping and not actually scrapbooking!!! So I am so glad that I don't have to waste more time finding good fonts on my own! THank you thank you thank you!
oh............ what is the picket fence one?????
July 18, 2008 | Unregistered Commenterwendyf209
do you know of a program that will print a sample of all your fonts? i guess i'm lazy and don't want to try and print a sample of them all separately.

I have way to many to count and not enough patience. My dh calls me the font junky and jokes I could fill an entire ehd with just fonts. Maybe I should start deleting ones I don't use (like the picket fence font I'll NEVER use-hehe) Off to get more!!! Love these!!

Awesome! Thanks for creating this list. I come from a DTP background and fonts are something I notice on every advertisement. I even use "What the Font" on MyFonts.com to find out what some mystery fonts are.

I love Sue Fisher's The Font Thing because you don't have to install all the fonts. Also I learned from your ACDSee class that it previews fonts there too.

Thanks,
Tasha

Sure.... Just feed my addiction! You are such an enabler! These are some great fonts and they will be assimilated into the collective! (oops my sci-fi side just jumped out there for a minute!) I have over 5,000 fonts (not all installed mind you) and I just keep adding and adding and adding....

Could you refresh me on how to download these fonts to my font collection?! Thanks! Shelley Haganman
July 18, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterShelley
Oh man, this may be the proudest moment of my life. I have all those fonts... does that make me a real scrapbooker??? Or just a font-hoarder that needs to go on Oprah? :)

I actually had my handwriting created for the growing "Pea" collection ... it's the Pea Frankie ( http://www.kevinandamanda.com/scrapbook/fonts/fontsforpeas/index4.html ). Probably the only time in my life I'll get to brag, so there you go...

Love your taste in fonts! I picked up a couple new ones, but I've already got most of these and have used them (the important part!) I've got about 2000 fonts in my collection, but am always adding. As addictions go, this one is pretty cheap, lol. Love that fonts for peas website, I adore that style of fonts. Had to download them all!
July 18, 2008 | Unregistered Commentercassie-in-texas
I love these-and have a couple already, but heading off to download the rest.

My only font addition that I use constantly is good old Scriptina!

How awesome is this...Coincidentally, I've been on a font frenzy for the past few days, and some of these are JUST what I needed! Thnks for an awesome post!

Forgot to say...I have 841 fonts which is WAY too many! plan to cull out some of those picket fences and christmas lights later today!
July 18, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterMaria in Tulsa
Since you've asked, I've got exactly 503 fonts, not counting the standards. Thanks for giving me some extra LOL
Is it true too many fonts will slow down Photoshop? I would like to remove most of them, but I'm afraid I'm gonna uninstall some standards. Do you have any tips on how to that and font management? Is The Font Thing the program you can load the fonts without installing them?
July 18, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterSandraC
Thanks for the fonts Jessica. I have 646 but did download a couple!
For Heather and anyone else interested, there is a neat little program that I have had for years called akfontviewer. I use it all the time shows your words in all your fonts at the same time.
