Photoshop Friday! Font-o-licious! 24 FREE fonts
Friday, July 18, 2008 at 09:32AM I totally LOVE fonts. LOVE them. Collect them. Gaze lovingly upon them. I do find myself coming back to a shortened list over and over, for their pure deliciousness and utter perfection.
This is a list of the downloadable fonts I use the most often (by downloadable I mean aside from the standards like Century Gothic, Garamond, Myriad). I think you should go pick these up, if you don’t have them already. And I think you should throw away that one you have that has letters shaped like a picket fence. You know the one.
The first 24 are absolutely FREE. The last 3 are a couple bucks each, and I’ve found them to be totally worth it.

And here are some fonts that cost a couple bucks each. I have found these to be worth it. :)
How’s that? Pretty awesome, hey? Feel free to add to this list if you’ve got some go-to fonts you’d like to share! Have a super, Phabulous Photoshop Phriday and a great weekend!

I love Sue Fisher's The Font Thing because you don't have to install all the fonts. Also I learned from your ACDSee class that it previews fonts there too.
Thanks,
Tasha
Uh, sorry back to the fonts...great fonts, thanks so much for sharing! Totally love Ma Sexy!

I actually had my handwriting created for the growing "Pea" collection ... it's the Pea Frankie ( http://www.kevinandamanda.com/scrapbook/fonts/fontsforpeas/index4.html ). Probably the only time in my life I'll get to brag, so there you go...

My only font addition that I use constantly is good old Scriptina!
Is it true too many fonts will slow down Photoshop? I would like to remove most of them, but I'm afraid I'm gonna uninstall some standards. Do you have any tips on how to that and font management? Is The Font Thing the program you can load the fonts without installing them?
For Heather and anyone else interested, there is a neat little program that I have had for years called akfontviewer. I use it all the time shows your words in all your fonts at the same time.
